Hi,
I just read the description, review, & owner coments about CCrane's CCRadio-SW & added it to my wish list @ CCrane.
It sounds like a nice radio & has some very interesting features.
One thing you can do w/it is bring out the raw signal from the IF to
feed into your computer & decode the different digital modes.
One of the owners talked about connecting a Satelite receiver output to
the radio's antenna jack & receive all kinds of stuff on the sat
& microwave freqs.
I hadn't thought of doing that before.
The radio has a twin ferrite coil AM antenna built in. From what I
read, that helps the AM recieption, as long as the radio isn't inside a
steel reinforced building.
The reviewer tested the radio in his office building & said that
the radio did much better either w/a enxternal AM antenna or sitting on
the window sile then it did w/the built in AM antenna w/the radio
sitting on his desk.
The radio doesn't have a BFO for SSB but an owner did mention using an
out board SSB unit pluged into the IF out jack to receive SSB.
This radio is basicaly the CCRadio-Plus w/the TV/WX bands swapped out
for the SW bands & performance is comparable between the 2.
Go to CCrane & read up on the CCRadio-SW.
You just might want 1.
Thanks.
