What a net, and what a difference a week makes!!
Tonight we had 20 checkins to the new Southern Indiana Northern Kentucky
2m SSB net! The band was in great condition looking north. A big
thanks to everyone who took time to join us this week. You guys are
making this net a success! As long as we can get folks interested in
checking in, I will be happy to run the nets. And, as always, if anyone
would like to take a stab at being net control just let me know.
And I would also like to offer my help, if anyone has questions. I may
not be an expert, but I've been an active VHF contester and general weak
signal VHF addict for over 10 years now. If you want advice on
antennas, need to know your grid square, or anything else for that
matter, don't hesitate to ask.

_/CQ...CQ...CQ...Announcing a New /__/ SSB Net
/_Spread the Word, Talk it up with Your Friends and Club Members.
Thursday, February 5, at 7:00 PM ET (00:00z) for the _2 METER SSB NET_
Simplex Freq. 144.250 USB
Net Control: Dan K9ZF
_The purpose for the net is:_
_
_1. Increase 2 meter SSB activity in the Southern Indiana / Northern
Kentucky Area, and Beyond.
2. To give area operators a chance to test their stations and their
capabilities.
3. To give area SSB operators a chance to meet other active stations in
the area.
4. Last, but not least, TO HAVE FUN:-)
As your net control I will start the net looking north from EM78el.
After gathering check ins from the north I will move the beam east, then
south, then west. Most active SSB stations will be using horizontal
yagis, but don't let this discourage you if all you have is a vertical.
Please give us a try with what you have!
I have a very small station here in EM78el, just east of Charlestown,
IN. I have 150 watts and 10 elements at 25 feet. With my station, I
will be depending heavily on the other stations to help relay check ins.
I don't have any ice on the antennas this week, so hopefully I will be
able to hear a bit better. I know there were several stations that
tried to check in last week but I couldn't hear them. Please don't give
up on us, we hope to have several more stations spread around this week
to help find everyone.
We look forward to hearing you!
