For many of us in Indiana, there has been a dirth of component sales outlets
such as Grahams of the old days for a long time. A few days ago, I visited
the new Fry's Electronics store at 9820 Kinkaid Dr, in the NE quadrant of the
intersection of I-69 and 96th St in Indianapolis. To my surprise, not only
do they carry the current array of computers, computer parts (build your
own!) software, books and appliances, they also carry a generous line of
components. I didn't inspect them all, but saw plenty of transistors, resistors,
capacitors, plugs/connectors, solder and soldering stations and irons, etc.
They have been frequently advertising in the Indy Star---with full sections,
sometimes. I have either missed it, or they have not advertised this line of
merchandise. There were several 'hammy' looking folks going through the aisles
of parts.
I have absolutely no financial interest in Fry's, a San Jose CA company, but
did want to share this refreshing bit of news to the home builders/repairers.
