As I remember, you had to notify FCC if you were going to be operating mobile too - anywhere different than your authorized station location.

I'm not sure when that requirement went away, but it was certainly in place in the mid-60's, including the fact that you had to notify the FCC Engineer in Charge of the District that you were going to be operating away from your home QTH.

I remember field day stations signing /9 (or what the district was). Same with if you were out of district such as me operating in CA KI9A/6
