My son and I will be operating out of a tent in a hay field on the corners
of Henderson, Warren and McDonough Counties as KA9MOT/P. He'll be doing the
logging

We'll be operating a Kenwood TS-450S/AT using a OCF Dipole cut for 40M at
30 feet.

I've built a contraption to hang from the tailgate of my truck to give our
fiberglass mast (The 2 inch military tent pole kind) some support at the
base. And will use ropes to guy the mast at 20 feet.

Most of our operation will be on 40M phone, but if the action get's slow,
I'll move to other bands. If it get's very slow, I'll set up the computer
interface I built and try some digital modes.

Logging will be done by my son Charles (Jeff) NØCAL on a Toshiba Laptop
running Winders 7 and N1MM Logging software. The best in my opinion. I'm
running a power inverter to power the laptop once I use up my 3 batteries.
Hopefully I won't need to to save my power for the rig.

I only have 2 deep cycle batteries and will need to reduce power, but I am
hesitant to try QRP. I'll try it at first and see how things go. You guys
listen real close... if QRP works I'll keep at it.

I'll be tearing down before the sun goes down as I am afraid of the dark...
I aint skeered! I just don't want to tear down in the dark. :)

My brother Mike KC9ZQU and buddy Scott KC9SIW will hopefully come out to
visit.

I'm cheap, so I am only serving sammitches! :)

Looking forward to working ALL of you!
Steve KA9MOT
