[ILQSO] Mobiles

Good suggestions, Craig. It's easy to get enamored on 20 and 15 if Europe is calling, but don't forget the other IL stations. Part of the strength of the ILQP is the fact that IL stations CAN get county credit for working each other (unlike some other parties).
I don't think we have ever advocated a mobile window before (many parties do) but I'm up for it if we can make it work. I usually try to land somewhere in that 40-45 area myself when mobile. It takes only a couple of strong fixed stations in that 5 khz to pretty much occupy it. On the other hand, I don't want to be "running off" fixed stations who for any reason decide to operate there. Maybe we can put the suggestion in the rules for 2015 if it seems to work this year.
Hitting the same freq on each band is a good move for several reasons.
WIARC has adopted 146.55 as a calling freq for ILQP locally, so that's a good plan overall. Unfortunately, I've found that I blow away my 2 meter radio when I operate HF, so I only turn it on occasionally.
By all means, spot the mobiles and rovers (and anyone else) on http://ch.w6rk.com/. This is better than DX Summit because some take umbrage at having US stations spotted there. You can easily input the station, frequency and county on W6RK and watch the spots. When you put in the location, leave a space between the comma and the state, e.g. ADAMS, IL
I think we have two more mobiles at least to hear from so all 102 may still be a possibility.

May I suggest a couple of things to the mobiles....
1, Please go to 40m on county changes so that the IL stations have a chance to work you.
2. Let's keep a mobile window open...say 40 to 45 from the bottom of the band
3. You should always go to the same freq. on each band....W9IL/m 41 W9AA/n 42, etc. that way we can watch for you and know it is you.
4. Be aware of us calling you on backscatter from IL...we won't be as strong!
5. All of us can probably work a lot of mobiles on 2m FM. Can we say that
146.55 is the IQP calling freq?
Maybe others have suggestions too....anything to help increase scores!!
Thanks for doing the mobile duties...it is sincerely appreciated.
