Hank, you do certainly do well with low power.  Can you convey some idea of what percentage of your contacts are typically on CW as opposed to phone modes?  I guess my recommendation to Frank was based upon the assumption (ooops) that he would be running primary phone?  Certainly CW with 5 watts can be very effective.

Recently I've done quite well running 5 watts or less.  I generally find 
a place with 110 VAC, or rent a AC generator, so I can run my computer 
to log (and key) the radio without having to worry about battery life. 
I found a 1.5 KW AC generator this year for $28/day, but for the weekend 
they charged 1 1/2 days because the place wasn't open on Sunday.

Was first place QRP in the Ohio QSO party last year, and it appears that 
I'll be near the top this year.

Sorry I can't make it to Illinois this year - been traveling too much 
this summer.  It was really fun being on a four county corner for a 
couple years. :)
