[ILQSO] 2008 ILQP results & '09 plans

Jim, and all:
 
Fine job, again running this thing! Also, a great writeup about the  contest. 
I do have a silly question though.
 
203 QSO's on 2 meters???  
 
Where did these take place?  Are the guys in the big city up north  running 
shack-on-belt HT guys, from a local club, or, did 2 open up on  SSB?  
 
Obviously, there is way to even this playing field out, just one of those  
things like east coast vs midwest....
 
 
2009 Idea's:
 
Get hold of your local club, and think of a competition inside of the club  
for high score.  I was thinking of having the local club spring for  something 
neat, engraved stein, gift certificate for local eatery, or something,  to get 
more folks interested. Maybe a prize for high score, and a prize drawn  from 
all entries, no matter score.    If we do this locally, it might  mean 
activity from Madison, Monroe, even Washington & Randolph  possibly.  Since the bunch 
in my local club think I am a "big gun" (  hehehe), I will not enter with 
them, so maybe the less experienced will have a  shot at the 
certificate/prize/ect.  I'm going to investigate other QP's,  and see what they offer...
