[ILQSO] mobile antennas

The setup on the old vehicle used a homebrew mast with six, stock Hustler
resonators. The new setup has two configurations that I can easily switch
between but both use a standard Hustler mast with some stock and some
rewound Hustler resonators. One configuration has 20, 30 and 40 meter
resonators and it's mainly for local and non-QSO party travels. The other
configuration has 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 and 80-meter resonators mounted.

Since most of my operating is on the county hunter frequencies the limited
bandwidth of the resonators is not a problem and the instant band switching
is a plus. I haven't used the new six resonator setup since I built it but
it will get tested on a trip to Montana in the near future.

If you want to see the setup in the new vehicle take a look at the July 2009
issue of the County Hunter News at http://www.chnewsonline.com/. I think the
article about my installation starts on page 42.

Just curious, been curious since last year.

WHAT do you big-gun mobiles run for antennas? If it is a secret weapon, I
understand! But, some ( most) of you guys are really strong, and
obviously hear well.
