Great! Hey, write up your story in more detail. I'd like to see if we can put a bunch of these on the website.....

Subject: [ILQSO] WX9JC/P Preliminary Results

Here are our initial results for WX9JC/p  at the MSHL/PEOR/STAR line...

QSO points: 260
(CW: 49)
(Phone: 162)
Multipliers: 70
(33 states)
(32 IL counties)
(3 provinces)
(2 countries)
Score = 18,200.

We had a lot of fun out there in the middle of nowhere.  The wind was
atrocious at first, and made getting the G5RV up *interesting*.  We didn't
start the contest until 18:19Z.  After reading all of the posts so far, we
feel much better about our performance, especially regarding IL counties!
In fact, our first IL contact wasn't until our 37th QSO!

We set up a portable station using battery and solar power only, sort of an
emergency communications practice/field-day type set-up.  We are grateful
for a local farmer who let us use his land, which included setting up our
tent behind one of the barns, which provided some wind relief.

Looking forward to next year!
