[ILQSO] Let's use KJ9C/R

Even though I won't have big antennas and hope to make most of my contacts while driving, I will try to remember to use KJ9C/R (and not KJ9C/m) as my call, so those tuning across who miss the first letter of the call won't cornfuse me with AJ9C/M.

As for operating frequencies, I will try to stay close to 050 on CW, but the RTTY contest will obviously dictate where I find a hole. Won't drop below 025, though.

On SSB, I will shoot for 14290 and try to call CQ.... on 40, I have found more IL phone stations closer to 7200 than to 7290, so I will tune the entire general band. I likely will not call CQ on SSB unless I think my signal is bigger than it really is. So you big guns calling CQ on SSB should listen for mobiles and portables once in a while

I won't even try 75 meter SSB unless 80 CW is really hot and I run out of stations to work. So far I have made ZERO QSOs on 75 in the last 8 QSO parties when I tried to make 75 meter QSOs.... not a great track record.

See you in the pileups

Mel KJ9C/R
