[ILQSO] 40 meter SSB hint

With things now 1 hour earlier, 40m has it's issues. 40 doesn't have
the extra time to go long and provide alot of west coast stations.

The only key to 40m SSB is to be loud and just be there. This is
where a majority of my Qs originate and I work lots of unique
calls. I spent an extra hour on 20 last year and it was
beneficial. 80 is ok, but we don't get much time. Sunset is 2301 on
10/21/07.

I think the biggest benefit to 40m SSB is that you have to be
dedicated to it and stay in the same place. Several years in a row,
I have been able to park on 40 and have people come to me, including
the mobiles. It's neat to have the mobiles come up and work you
while you are running at a decent rate. If they know where to find
you, and you are there, it's an easy Q for both parties. I have been
able to make 400-500 40m Q's the last few years.

ON A SEPARATE NOTE: I have spoken with the SIU ARC and they are
working on getting the SIU station active so Jackson Co. could have a
fixed station. More when I know more...
