[ILQSO] 40 meter SSB hint

I know from past years, 40 SSB is the pits after sunset. I am sure there
is much more activity on CW than SSB after dark.

Since I am mostly an SSB operator, I can't say for sure, but it appears
the most dedicated operators are on CW or both. During the ILQP, it also
seems a lot of the county hunters are looking for their needed counties
in CW, as opposed to SSB..

Subject: [ILQSO] 40 meter SSB hint

A hint from K8MR: "to try 40 ssb earlier rather than later, as the SWBC
qrm screws up ssb earlier than RTTY screws up cw."

We don't notice this so much in the Midwest, but it is a HUGE problem on
the East Coast. If you are mobile, you are pretty much not going to get
any action from the eastern third of the country on SSB after about
2000Z due to broadcast QRM. They just can't hear you. Period.

RTTY QRM is another issue altogether. I haven't checked, but I'm hoping
we didn't pick a weekend with a major RTTY test. At least most of them
are over by 0000Z on Monday.....
