[ILQSO] 40 meter horizontal mobile antenna ideas

Chuck, what I am after isn't so much polarization as it is high angle (NVIS)
stuff from the mobile on 40 meters. Since anything I put on a vehicle will
be very close to ground, I am thinking anything horizontally polarized will
give me the high angle stuff to improve my signal in state for the QSO
party. The typical mobile vertical is just barely usable in early afternoon
and once the band lengthens out later, I am pretty much finished working the
in state stuff. I hope to extend the time I can still work the "locals",
although in reality it may only be by a few minutes and I may be
disappointed.
Actually, I have given some thought to a very large (almost full sized) 40
meter vertical on the truck, bent over at the 12' level, just to gain
efficiency, but that still won't give me much lower angle than what I have
now, but it should help efficiency out a bit.
