Regarding the requirement for a summary sheet: If you submit an
electronic log in acceptable format (which is about anything I can
eventually cram into Excel), you are not *required* to submit a summary
sheet. Many Cabrillo format logs calculate a score, which may or may not
be correct as not all programs calculate the score correctly!! (Yes,
that's redundant...it's MondayMonday).
Having said that, it is to your advantage to submit a summary and
claimed score with your log. I will generate a summary sheet for every
electronic log during the log-checking process. If the score I
calculate doesn't match what you've claimed, I aim to know why. By
checking this, I've found that my calculations are not always perfect
(gasp!).
Paper logs are REQUIRED to submit a summary sheet, as in the past, or
they will most likely be classified as check logs (as in the past).
Yes, we are trying to get more people to submit electronic logs, but
there are no plans to discriminate against paper logs as some simply do
not have computers or logging programs...and that's fine.
Any other questions, I'll take a shot at 'em. Keep those plans coming!
