[ILQSO] Contest conditions

My impression of band conditions:
15: zilch
20: some propagation but could never get anything going...missed a lot
of expected mults...mult count pathetic as a result!
40: couldn't have asked for better
80: pretty decent, but unexpectedly low response the last hour
VHF: not a factor

This was admittedly a biased analysis, from a mobile in the west-central
part of the state. YMMV VWLTOP 73, Jim N9JF

So what were the band conditions like in IL? I was
surprised at the lack of activity on 20 meters. 40
was tough to work at the beginning of the contest
because it was just too short for a solid QSO from OK
to IL. Did pick up later, but even 40 seemed a little
less active than usual.
