If you have a computer-generated log, or if you want to put your paper
log into electronic form and wonder if it's acceptable, send me a small
sample as an attachment. I can let you know very quickly if it's going
to work. If you want to check yourself and you have Excel, see if you
can open it in Excel and show each of the fields in a separate column.
If you can, you're good to go. So far, I have processed logs from N3FJP,
N1NN, WriteLog, TrLog, GenLog and NA with no particular problem, though
some are easier than others.
To create a useable text file in Notepad or Wordpad (or whatever):
Freq [tab] Mode [tab] Time [tab] Station [tab] Exchange
Or if you have Excel, create those columns. That's exactly what I did
last year with my own mobile log. Of course, if you changed counties,
include a field for "my QTH".
You don't need to include "date". It's assumed...though I've received
two PAQP logs so far....
A dupe sheet is just a listing of stations worked on each band/mode,
arranged usually by the number in the call followed by the first letter
after then number.
Not difficult.
I plan a three-step process:
1) Create an Excel file of each log and copy that file to a master file.
2) Check the master file to detect busted calls and exchanges
3) Recreate the individual files and detect dupes and tally multipliers
and calculate a final score.
I have completed step (1) for about 2/3 of the logs submitted.
Keep 'em comin'. 73, Jim N9JF
