Well, fun as normal!
Thanks to the guys at RAMS & N9JF for the hard work, allowing me to have fun!
Here are some ideas, I know these have been brought up before, & I will do it
again!
1) WHY does this thing run until 0200z?? The last hour is a real bite. I
think it would be better to run this thing 1700z-0100z, giving the mobile guys an
extra hour to put the counties on 40, where the fixed stations can get a crack
at them.
75 SSB is non-existant, & 80 CW isn't real active without the mobile &
portable guys on. Most, I think, may have packed it up by then. It would also give
us an extra hour to hit the high bands.
2) The 8/QSO mult. Y U K. This is great to keep for out of state & in state
mobiles. But, again, it can be very unfair to most fixed stations. For
instance, my last 18 QSO's tonite where with my own county. Could have been way more
if I had hit 2 FM earlier. Next year, I am going to make a concerted effort
to work every no-coder within 3 counties! ;-) Seriously, I can EASILY pick up
an extra 10 mults by getting the VHF crowd on the air. Keep this for out of
state guys, & mobiles. But kill it off for us fixed guys. Face up to it, the
guy in Cook can put up a ton of local 8/Q mults, but, the guy in Hamilton gets
screwed. Anyone else see a serious flaw here?
3) Move the 75 SSB freq off of 3890, AMer's hang there.
Thats all I can think of. Really, what harm would a slight change make? I'd
like to hear everyones thoughts are on the time change to 1700z-0100z, &
killing off the 8/Q mult for fixed stations.
Again, thanks so much RAMS, for 10 (or is it 11?) years of a great time!!
