Hello,

Here are my responses for what they're worth. Can someone please post to
the INQP reflector? I am not a member.

If it were allowed, I would rank all of the items I selected as "1."
They're pretty much equally important to me.

I have driven a long distance to operate in the ILQP several (three?) time
mainly because of this event's fun, unique rules. Aside from making it
different from the run-of-the-mill QSO party, these rules actually make it
possible for a solo op to win. This is really cool and almost impossible in
other QSO parties. I would prefer to compete against other solo ops instead
of having to compete against teams but until there are enough entries to
justify having two mobile categories, I have no choice but to compete
against other mobile stations with dedicated drivers. This puts me at a big
disadvantage, but at least I have a fighting chance in IL. (Say, isn't
there enough mobile participation now to have two categories?)

I personally love the ILQP rules that give this event a unique character.
Some have proposed to change these rules to make it into a carbon copy of
other state QSO parties, but so far the sponsors have decided to keep IL as
it is, and I hope they continue to do so. I think the success of this party
is directly related to its unusual rules. Variety is the spice of life!

What helps determine whether or not you put out the effort to participate as
a mobile in a particular state's party? Please rank the following, with
number 1 being highest priority, and PLEASE ADD OTHER CHOICES!!!

___ Loyalty to a state, club or individuals participating

_2__ Likelihood of winning a category

___ Tangible rewards provided by sponsor (trophies, plaques, certificates,
other)

___ Tangible rewards available based on level of achievement (T-shirts,
coffee mugs that can be purchased)

_4__ Convenient and enjoyable way to spend part of a weekend (not so
convenient for me but VERY enjoyable)

___ Length of contest

_3__ Rules format

___ Opportunity to try out my mobile/portable station and test my skills

_1__ The Challenge of Competiting With Others (added by me)
