[ILQSO] ILL QSO PARTY

Looking forward to this years ILL QSO Party as usual. Mike,KN9T and myself
will be operating fixed portable from the four corners of Boone,Ogle,Dekalb
and Winnibago counties. We had a great time in last years event. We used a
10' x 6' cargo trailer where we set up table and chairs. We used a Kenwood
TS-850s running 500 watts through a Heathkit amplifier. We used a mult-band
dipole hung in the trees. Also used a generator with 120/220 volt outputs.
Last year was my first time running portable and I sort of replaced W9DY
as the other operator. Big shoes to fill!! Mike is a top operator and it is
a pleasure to do this with him. Mike was my Elmer 22 years ago. Hopefully
I will be able to meet W9DY this year. This year we will be using my call,
N9GZ in the contest. Everyone look out for us as we will be hitting as many
