[ILQSO] NA and mobile

Faster method-make .BAT files for all the county names. For example you're
in Rock Island county and next county is Mercer, MRCR, exit NA type
"MRCR -now" and if you've set up the .BAT file correctly you'll go right to
the logging portion of the program.

I do use the keyer function as well as the radio interface so the program
will track of band changes or if you're operating both SSB and CW, mode
changes.

You can also make .BNR files to display the county name at the bottom of the
screen. I find that helpful especially during the Wisconsin QSO Party since
I have problems spelling some of the Indian county names when someone
doesn't recognize the abbreviation.

CU in the Party!

I use NA in my mobile operations, but I do not use the keyer function.
Either my radio or my electronic keyer and paddle operation does the keying.
It
is sometimes brutal, especially on rough roads, but I secure the paddles and
use the laptop.
What I usually do is before the contest starts, go in and make a
NY4Nxxxx.QDF file (xxxx being the four letter county abbreviation) for every
county I
am going to work. Then, when I switch counties, I exit out of the county
file I
am in, go out of NA all together, then start over by typing in the new
county
file. A few keystrokes and I am ready to go.
This takes about one minute. Works fine for me so far, although there is
most likely an even better and quicker way to do it. I'm a glutton for
punishment. GL to all. Jeff NY4N.
