I use NA in my mobile operations, but I do not use the keyer function.
Either my radio or my electronic keyer and paddle operation does the keying. It
is sometimes brutal, especially on rough roads, but I secure the paddles and
use the laptop.
What I usually do is before the contest starts, go in and make a
NY4Nxxxx.QDF file (xxxx being the four letter county abbreviation) for every county I
am going to work. Then, when I switch counties, I exit out of the county file I
am in, go out of NA all together, then start over by typing in the new county
file. A few keystrokes and I am ready to go.
This takes about one minute. Works fine for me so far, although there is
most likely an even better and quicker way to do it. I'm a glutton for
punishment. GL to all. Jeff NY4N.
