Hi all,

Some interesting viewpoints and several have merit. For what it's
worth to the county hunters, here's what we do when at a 4-county line
which intersects in the middle of an intersection.

Fortunately the 4 counties rarely meet in an urban setting with a LOT of
traffic so we just use a counterpoise with our antenna system. We run
the counterpoise made of thin insulated hookup wire out to the center of
the road where we usually find the surveyor's marker (like a big nail
head). We circle the marker with the end of our counterpoise wire and
hold it down with chunks of duct tape every foot or two as needed. We
have never had to re-tape it once it is in place even tho trucks, etc.
have run over it for the whole contest period. Teardown is real easy
even in the dark or we could just abandon the stuff if we had to. We
always make a photo of the marker and wire in case somebody takes us to
court, HI. Not sure how much the signal strength is improved but it
lets us feel we are legal.

Se y'all in a few weeks.
