I beat last year's score -- but just barely.
I worked more Q's but less mults.... but the
mobile op was still fun. I was dissapointed
with operating cw mobile -- my paddles were
jumping all over the place so i gave up after
only 9 cw Q's and stuck to ssb. I'm sure that
takes a big hit on my score compared to other
mobiles. Perhaps next year i will use the
laptop to send CW -- one less thing to carry.
I also had noise from my power inverter -- when
it was on i couldn't hear a thing on 20 or 40m.
Had to turn it off and then on occasionally to
charge the laptop battery.

I only ran 16 of my 18 planned counties -- due
to time restrictions. In fact, i made it into
Boone County with only 5 mins to spare! I am
undecided whether I'm better off running mobile
versus fixed... i know one thing: My wife (who
was my driver yesterday) refuses to EVER do that
again. I guess she got tired of me calling CQ
for 8 hours! :)

Highlight of the contest was my 82-hour. That
isn't saying much... but its a nice warmup for
Nov SS.
