First, apologies to all those who tried to work me on CW and got garbage...
first time running a laptop in the car, and even though it worked fine in
the driveway, it kept going into Search and Pounce mode while I was trying
to run staitons. Guess I did not get ALL the RF out of the system. At least
it sent good CW.

Made a couple of errors with the software.... At the contest start, when I
was on the Coles/Moultrie/Shelby corner, I had programmed the wrong REPEAT
exchange (I sent Coles/Douglas/Moultrie to a few)... If they were listening
they figured out that "KJ9C/CMS" meant Coles-Moultrie-Shelby... I never was
in
Douglas County (that was an earlier plan that got scrapped)... to confuse
things I
later signed KJ9C/CFM..KJ9C/CLR... KJ9C/CEJ and KJ9C/CLRK/EDGR
(see counties covered below)

Also, I got lost... really bad... my map program did not tell me that some
of these roads had been built and maintained by General Sherman on his
backward march from the sea... and that was the LAST time they had been
maintained... anyway, in attempts to save the vehicle suspension, I took
some "shortcuts" to nowhere.... But within one mile I saw a deer, a
raccoon, and three LIVE skunks in the middle of the road.... back to Evasive
Driving 101....

Managed to hit four three-county intersections (Coles/Moultrie/Shelby,
Clay/Fayette/Marion, Crawford/Richland/Lawrence,
Cumberland/Effingham/Jasper) and the Clark/Edgar line. Worked SSB on the
move and CW parked. Some pileups were BIG!!! Thanks to all who called, and I
hope you got into my logs.

I merged all my TR logs into one spreadsheet, and first blush looks like
about 214 CW log QSOs and 141 log SSB, for a total of 1300 or so points and
maybe 76 mults, which includes the "Cook County bonus"....No doubt there are
lots of dupes in there.

There were a LOT of multi-county portables and mobiles out there.... Great
Showing!!!!

It was fun. But next year I am bringing a driver!!! Thanks to all who pulled
my puny signal out of the noise.
