[ILHam] Illinois House Bills 3970 and 3972 - Distracted Driving (UPDATE)

I have great news everyone! 

I spoke with the author / co-author of these two bills earlier today, via his Legislative Assistant. This author/co-author, Representative  John D'Amico (D) - Previous General Assembly (96th),15th District. I was able to convince him to pull the bill off the table and amend it to read that Licensed Amateur Radio Operators with a current and valid FCC amateur radio license are exempt under the emergency responder exemption. 

The amended bill(s) will be on-line soon for all to see. John and his office were very gracious and kind in this and so I think we should all write in with letters thanking him and his office for their immediate response to this matter.
