The Illiana Radio Club, W9IRC, will be having Field Day
this year at Mill Creek Park near Clarksville, IL. You can
find that on a map by using the ARRL Field Day Locator.
http://www.arrl.org/field-day-locator
Enter W9IRC in the box and click search and you will
see a Google map showing the location of the park.

The park is pretty easy to get to. The intersection of
I-70 and IL-1 is exit 147 and is just a few miles north
of Marshall, IL. From there go south a couple of miles
on IL-1 to the intersection of US-40 and IL-1 and turn
west on US-40. In less than a mile you will come to
the intersection of US-40 and Clarksville Road. There
are signs on US-40 indicating Clarksville Road and
Mill Creek Park. Turn northwest on Clarksville Road
and take it all the way to park. It's about 6 or 7 miles.
The park entrance has a big sign for the park.

We'll be at the Lion's Shelter in the park. That shelter
is near the boat launch. After entering the park proceed
on past the gate house and then turn left on Larry Bender
Drive. You should see a sign that says "Public Boat
Launch". Don't go to the boat launch but take the gravel
drive that goes off to the right towards the shelter. There's
a little sign that says "Picnic Area".

Field Day is Saturday and Sunday, June 26th and 27th.
We're having a practice session this Saturday, June 12th
at the same location. We need to work out how to position
antennas and stuff so we're doing some practice. You are
welcome to attend both Field Day and our practice session.

Field Day officially starts at 1800 UTC on the 26th but we'll
be there plenty early to setup. Field Day runs until 1800 UTC
on the 27th and we plan on running the whole 24 hours.
Our practice session begins at noon CDT this Saturday.

The Illiana Radio Club is a new radio club. We've been in
existence about a year and a half. We had a very successful
Field Day last year, our first, and hope to again this year.
You attendance will be a part of that success.

The Illiana Radio Club has a web site at http://www.w9irc.org.
There's a membership application on that web site and
you can pay your dues via Pay Pal. Dues are $20.00 per year.
About half our members are from Illinois and about half are
from Indiana.

We have monthly meetings which frequently take place in
a park and includes setting up stations and operating.
When we meet indoors we meet a place like the Valley Grill
in Terre Haute on North 3rd Street at the US-41 IN-63 y.

We also have monthly VE exam sessions at Ryves Youth
Center in Terre Haute. Our next exam session is Thursday,
June 10th at 7:00 PM.

The Eastside Outdoor Ham Club will be participating with
the Illiana Radio Club at Field Day this year. The GOTA
station will use the EOHC call sign KT9E. The EOHC has
a web site at http://www.wirelessinfield.com/eastside.

The Illiana Radio Club is an ARRL affiliated club. More
information on the ARRL is available on their web site
at http://www.arrl.org. More information on Field Day
is available at http://www.arrl.org/field-day.

If you have any questions about any of this you can email
me at wd9eyb at arrl.net or call (812) 238-0584.

Thanks,

Jim Osburn, WD9EYB
