Hi guys, yes I am talking about JOTA Jamboree on the air sorry about that.
My mind is still foggy from recent surgery. I am interested in information
from those that have set an event up or know of one that was set up of what
they set up.
What type of antenna or antenna's did you use?
Did you set this up outside like field day or was it inside?
Did you run a single station or multiple?
Did you make up your own contact cards or did you send off ahead of time for
the scout ones?
I am involved in scouting, in my fourth year as an adult leader and now
being the Cub Master. What I would like to do is find a location in town
where some wire antenna's can be put up but also have a building so we can
set up the stations indoors. Once I have that, I will ask council to post on
their web site and to send the info to all Troup's and packs in our council
inviting them but asking them to contact us with an approximation of how
many will be attending. I have talked to the president of Stars radio club
which isn't unfamiliar with doing events like this. About ten years ago
Stars ran a very successful Mir contact at one of our local schools which I
was part of the crew. So far Stars is interested and I have yet to contact
the board from Hamfesters about this.
I do have a couple local hams interested but it would probably go off much
better getting one or more clubs involved. I also have a location in mind
but have to contact the Village about obtaining permission.
For those that have done an event like this before am I on track or way off?
I am sure I have missed things too.
Thanks
Gerry
