Hello Tom and Jim,

I had a phone conversation with Fred Hensler, N9FDJ, who recounted his story
about his neighbor who is complaining about the interference that he (Fred)
is apparently causing to the neighbor’s cable TV set up.

Fred’s contact information is

Fred Hensler Jr, N9FDJ
507 Academy St
Pocahontas, IL 62275-2233

Cell phone: 618-531-6566.

Fred says that he has received help from local Amateur Radio operators to
make sure that his (Fred’s) equipment is well shielded, and grounded, etc.
In fact, Fred says that he does not interfere with his own TV or telephone.

The neighbor has contacted the Cable TV provider, but (apparently) the cable
TV folks don’t really know how to help the neighbor take proper steps to get
rid of the interference. Fred (who is disabled) asked his radio amateur
friends to ask the neighbor to see if they (the friends) could assist
somehow in helping his TV from being overloaded by Fred’s transmissions.
The neighbor has refused help from Fred’s Amateur Radio friends. Fred is
going to attach some low pass filters to his radio equipment to see if that
may help. The filters should be arriving most any day now.

Fred wonders if there is a Local Interference Committee somewhere in
southern Illinois that could try to lend a hand in helping to solve the
interference problem that Fred’s neighbor is experiencing.

If you know of someone or some group or club that might be able to assist,
please give Fred a phone call.

Fred said that he is fairly close to St Louis, Missouri. Who knows… there
may be some radio amateurs in the St Louis area that could help on this
case, too.

Thank you very much.
