*** UPDATE & NEWS on WCRA REPEATER SYSTEMS [Feb 14, 2009] ***
------------------------------------------------------------------------
--
As presented & discussed at the Feb-2009 WCRA Club general meeting; and
on the air via recent nets and announcements:
Wheaton Community Radio Amateurs, with coordination approval from the
Illinois Repeater Association and adjacent state coordination
organizations has relocated the 145.310/- repeater from Hoffman Estates
to Wheaton. The 145.310/- repeater is NOW providing conventional
"voice" FM repeater operations. Also as part of this coordinated
relocation and improvement of the 145.310 repeater, the WCRA 145.390
repeater will be down for some period of time for needed work. Users
of the WCRA's two meter repeater systems are encouraged and anticipated
to use the 145.310/- system for continued communication while 145.390 is
unavailable.
System Information:
Repeater Transmit = 145.310
Repeater Input = 144.710
PL/CTCSS parameters (are the same as 145.390)
* Rptr Input is: PL/CTCSS 107.2(1B) -or- 103.5(1A)
* Rptr Output: PL/CTCSS 107.2(1B)
IRLP & Echolink availability will be on the 145.310 repeater -
(same node # and usage as the 145.390 repeater)
Wheaton Club Nets (such as Sunday 8PM) will be taking place on our
145.310 system; instead of 145.390.
This is a step towards further improvements in our systems.
The WCRA Repeater Administrative Board is currently pursuing several new
repeater site proposals, and based on the site management requirements,
our system's responsibilities, construction funding and repeater
coordination proceedings with the Illinois Repeater Association - we
hope for positive advances in the near future.
