The North Shore Radio Club will link its repeaters Thursday, May 11, for the
8:00 p.m. CDT net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600 KHz,

PL 107.2 Hz) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz, PL 100.0 Hz). However,
please
check 2-meters if you don't hear us on UHF. It's suggested that the operator
pause for about a second after keying the microphone to allow the linkage to
pick up the request to transmit, especially on the 440 band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, this week's net will include the
RAIN
Report and Amateur Radio Newsline. This week's RAIN Report is "Hamvention
2006 - A Preview"  Part One  The 2006 Dayton Hamvention is scheduled for May
19-21 in suburban Dayton, Ohio. We'll be taking a peak at what's in store over the
next two weeks with its General Chair, Jim Nies, WX8F. He was interviewed
April 30 by  RAIN Founder/Producer, Hap Holly, KC9RP.

Amateur Radio Newsline reports the new leader of the ARRL's scores high marks
at N-A-B 2006, a big congressional win in the B-P-L fight, Dayton makes ready
to open its doors and Amateur Radio's own "Mr. Audio" will be honored by the
Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Mark, WA9IVH, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline, and
after Newsline.
