The North Shore Radio Club will link its repeaters Thursday, March 16, for
the 8:00 p.m.CST net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600 Hz,
PL 107.2 Hz) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz, PL 100.0 Hz). However, please
check 2-meters if you don't hear us on UHF. It's suggested that the operator
pause for about a second after keying the microphone to allow the linkage to
pick up the request to transmit, especially on the 440 band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, this week's net will include the RAIN
Report and Amateur Radio Newsline. The RAIN Report is "The Cleveland Ham Radio
Promotion Project." The Achilles heel of Amateur Radio is the lack of promotion of
the service to the public. The Cleveland Ham Radio Promotion Project is
trying to change that in the Cleveland, Ohio area. Its driving force is long-time
public relations man D. Logan, W1HEO. This week's RAIN excerpts from his talk
delivered at the 2005 Dayton Hamvention in suburban Dayton, Ohio.

Amateur Radio Newsline reports MARS says it will build a global Winlink 2000
network, the Coast Guard says it needs your help in locating a station
making phony distress calls and NASA predicts the next solar cycle.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Marilyn, W9LUO, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and
Newsline,
and after Newsline.

73,
Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
North Shore Radio Club
