WB9SA Amateur Radio Club offers Tech Class at Hub Civic Center, 20 minutes
from Danville IL, 40 minutes from Lafayette IN, 20 minutes from
Crawfordsville, IN. In Fountain County, IN.

Boy Scout Troop 272, WB9SA club station, is sponsoring an Amateur Radio
Technicians class and test... This is a great way to get you first ham radio
license and get on the air. Classes will run Oct. 4, 11, 18, 25, Nov. 1 and
8th with a test on Nov. 15th; from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Alternative Saturday
sessions on Oct. 8th and Nov. 5th, from 10 am to 5 pm for those that can't
make the Tuesday night meetings or have a long drive. Class is at the
Veedersburg Hub Civic Center, 301 N Newlin St., Veedersburg, IN 47987.
E-mail or call Scoutmaster/ARRL Instructor Brian Walker for more
information, bwalker at k-inc.com or 765-295-1548 evening. Cost is $20 (for
the book Now You're Talking, required reading), and $14 for the test (ARRL
Volunteer Examiners will be coming Nov. 15th). The public is welcome,
please RSVP. A suggested donation to BSA Troop 272 of $50 would be
appreciated to help WB9SA continue to grow.

In addition to the instruction you will have an opportunity to have hands on
experience. WB9SA, Boy Scout Troop 272's Club Stations, will be available
to test your new skills on the air. The Scouts have made contacts around
the world, including the world headquarters of Scouting in Geneva,
Switzerland. With the advent of EchoLink, an internet based way of using
others radio equipment, you may already have everything you need to get
started with Ham Radio at home! A simple station can be set up for under
$150.

Currently the Troop has three licensed Scouts, age 11 up, we are hoping for
ten. With the proper training you can be an Amateur Radio License holder!
