The North Shore Radio Club will link its repeaters September 15 for the 8:00
p.m. CDT net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600 Hz., PL
107.2 Hz.) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz., PL 100.0 Hz.). However,
please
check 2-meters if you don't hear us on UHF. It's suggested that the operator
pause
for about a second after keying the microphone to allow the linkage to pick
up
the request to transmit, especially on the 440 band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, the NSRC net includes the RAIN
report and AR Newsline. The RAIN report, "NPRM WT-05-235, A Bad Idea," Part One
discusses NPRM WT-05-235, a proposal for which the FCC has announced that an
October 14 commentary cut off date. RAIN founder Hap Holly, KC9RP, interviews CQ
magazine Editor and CQ VHF Editorial Director Rich Moseson, W2VU, who feels the
proposal would set Amateur Radio back 50 years.

Amateur Radio Newsline reports that ham radio continues its lifeline
communications
to the stricken Gulf states, a close call for the Handi Hams, and Amateur
Radio remembers the victims of 911.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Mark, WA9IVH, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline,

and after Newsline.

Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
