The North Shore Radio Club will link its Winnetka repeaters October 13 for
the 8:00 p.m. CDT net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600 Hz,
PL 107.2 Hz) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz, PL 100.0 Hz). However,
please check 2-meters if you don't hear us on UHF. It's suggested that the operator
pause for about a second after keying the microphone to allow the linkage to
pick up the request to transmit, especially on the 440 band.
In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, the NSRC net includes the RAIN report and
AR Newsline. The RAIN report for this week is a rerun from an April, 2000,
interview of Hap by Merl Heinlein, KB9NOH and a 3-minute commentary written by
Rusty, KC4ZPV, concerning the value code once had at one commercial radio
station; submitted by Dale Shimp, W9LOV.
Amateur Radio Newsline reports A major Pennsylvania utility drops B-P-L,
United Kingdom hams respond to a bomb threat and ham radio space tourist Greg
Olson, KC2ONX, gets ready to operate on-orbit.
All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Mark, WA9IVH, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline,
and after Newsline.
73,
Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
