The Chicago area's North Shore Radio Club will link its repeaters on May 12
for the 8:00 p.m. net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600
Hz., PL 107.2 Hz.) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz., PL 100.0 Hz.). It's
suggested that the operator pause for about a second after keying the microphone
to allow the linkage to pick up the request to transmit, especially on the 440
band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, the NSRC net includes the RAIN report and
AR Newsline. The RAIN report, "My Early Days as A Ham," is Part One of a talk
by former Chicago and current L.A. broadcaster, Dick Helton, W9CTY.

Amateur Radio Newsline reports that Amateur Radio may be on its way out at
the Vatican, new hams in Malaysia get High Frequency privileges and an ex-ham is
arrested by the FBI.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Mark, WA9IVH, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline, and
after Newsline.

Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
North Shore Radio Club
