[ILHam] Public Service Opportunities July 24 and July 31

Dear Cook County ARES Members and Friends:

I encourage everyone to exercise their emergency
communications skills by participating in public
service activities.  These activities furnish the
participants with excellent training for emergency
communications, provide a valuable service to the
served organization or agency, and bolster the
public image of amateur radio.

Two opportunities to help are coming up on the
next couple of weekends.

   The Spirit of Racine Triathlon is coming
   up THIS Sunday, July 24.  Communications
   will be coordinated by KB9MMA and KC9EOW.

   The Elmhurst Bicycle Club's Metro Metric
   Ride is coming up on the following Sunday,
   July 31.  Communications will be
   coordinated by the WAFAR repeater group.
