- Weather Spotting Class - Plainfield - February 26th
The Plainfield EMA will once again host a weather spotting class.  
However, the event has been expanded to a 4 hour seminar, as recognition 
of the 15 year anniversary of the Plainfield tornado.  The first half of 
the session will be a basic weather spotter certification class taught 
by Jim Stefkovich and members of the National Weather Service - 
Chicago.  Attendees will be given a certificate of completion.  The 
second half will feature WGN TV's Tom Skilling.
 
Tickets are free, but must be obtained in advance by phone from

The presentation will be held at Plainfield Central High School's 
Auditorium, Fort Beggs Drive, Plainfield; Saturday, February 26th, Noon 
to 4pm.  Hams can talk-in on the BARS-WD9AKO repeater 147.330+600Khz (no 
PL) or the PRL-WW9AE 444.550+5Mhz (114.8Hz PL).
