This was in my mailbox this morning and came to me by way of a very 
concerned Chicago-land ham.  Amateur radio groups, clubs, 
ARES/RACES/EMCOMM/SATERN groups, ham attorneys, EMA folks, and individuals 
will, hopefully, make a concerted effort to attend this hearing, PRB-1 in 
hand!

A legal notice appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times on
Thursday Feb 18, 2005 announcing
amendments to the Chicago, IL. Zoning Code.    One of
the amendments would limit "Wireless
Communications Facilities" antennas in Residential &
Neighborhood Business Districts.

     1.   R, B1, B2, and POS Districts

                    In Residential (R) and
Neighborhood Business (B1, B2) districts located
facilities          may not extend above the highest
point of the structure to which it is attached by
          more than

(a) 10 feet if the structure is up to 40 feet high;
or

(b) 15 feet if the structure is more than 40 feet
high.


The hearing on the amendment will be on Thursday March
3rd 2005, at 10:00 a.m. in the City
Council Chambers, City Hall, 2nd Floor, 121 N. LaSalle
St. Chicago, Illinois 60602.
