Highland Park's North Shore Radio Club will again link its repeaters on
February 17 for the 8:00 p.m. net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz,
+ 600 Hz., PL 107.2 Hz.) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz., PL 100.0 Hz.).
It's suggested
that the operator pause for about a second after keying the microphone to
allow the linkage to pick up the request to transmit, especially on the 440 band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, the NSRC net includes the RAIN
report and AR Newsline. The RAIN report this week, "There IS Fun Above 30
MHz," talks about the tradition and fun you'll find above 30 MHz. Bill Pasternak,
WA6ITF, interviews Warren Elly, W1GUD, reporter and anchor for Fox television in
Tampa, Florida.

Amateur Radio Newsline informs us that South Africa goes entry level code 3
and Radio Netherlands warns short-wave broadcasters about BPL, and tells
listeners the story of a rather interesting vanity club call sign.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Mark, WA9IVH, at the beginning of the net, after John Wass' ARRL
report and hamfest calendar, between RAIN and Newsline, and after Newsline.

Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
