Dear Cook County ARES Members and Friends:

We are still looking for a couple more folks to
help out with a special event station this
Saturday, October 9, at the Santa Fe Prairie
nature preserve in Hodgkins. The location is
close to I-55 and US-45/LaGrange Road. We expect
to have one HF station and one VHF/UHF station.
We need people to operate, and help set up and
tear down a couple of antennas and other
equipment. No strenuous work will be involved.

We will start setting up around 9:00 AM, and we'll
be finished by dark. We welcome your help even if
you can only be present for only a few hours.

Hams of any level of experience are welcome. This
will be a fun, low-key event, not a contest; if
you don't already know how to operate this style
of event, we'll be happy to help you get started.

The weather forecast for tomorrow is great--sunny
skies with temperature in the 60s. Won't you
please consider helping us out?

If you're available and interested, please respond
by e-mail or telephone (847 477 7104), and I'll
send directions and a maps.

If you can't join us in person, please look for us
on the bands. We'll be using the callsign K9S.

Thanks and 73,
