The only current controlled power supply I know of is a constant current 
power supply which auto adjusts voltage

to provide constant current on a test load. Not suitable for a HF TXCR.

I run my 12v radio's at 14.8v. This requires less current with the PA 
pwr regulation for same ppower,

  and provides better IMD3 TX quality. This was noticed esp in Elecraft 
gear.

It also provides better headway against VD . Current is controlled by 
the Voltage applied and load resistance.

Not sure why we are talking current controlled PSU's. Voltage controls 
current for a fixed load R.
