The only current controlled power supply I know of is a constant current
power supply which auto adjusts voltage
to provide constant current on a test load. Not suitable for a HF TXCR.
I run my 12v radio's at 14.8v. This requires less current with the PA
pwr regulation for same ppower,
and provides better IMD3 TX quality. This was noticed esp in Elecraft
gear.
It also provides better headway against VD . Current is controlled by
the Voltage applied and load resistance.
Not sure why we are talking current controlled PSU's. Voltage controls
current for a fixed load R.
