[ICOM] 7610 relay

Hi Adam-
Thanks for the reply. I am familiar with the Icom way of implementing the
SEND function, as I have dealt with it as far back as the first 756. I
normally run low power, so the SEND issue usually doesn't affect me. If I
know that I will be using an amp, I will use a buffer. I have built many
for my use and for others. The situation was that I was in the Bahamas a
couple of years ago with the 7610 and it was supposed to be a LP operation
for the 7610. After a series of events, we ended up using an old tube amp
and I hadn't brought a buffer. The reed relay fused closed, which rendered
the FET useless. I built an opto isolated relay out of junk box parts to
"save the day" and used the ACC pins. The problem now is that I want to
sell the radio and a prospective buyer won't accept the ACC solution, no
matter how much I explain it. I would be satisfied with cutting it out if
it were easier! Thanks for the details.
