[ICOM] IC-7000 Question.....Fan On All The Time????.

Hi All.....

It is good to be back on the Icom reflector.... now that I have acquired a couple new (to me) ICOM radios. (IC-7000 and an IC-7100).

The R-7000 is in nice clean condition but there is an anomaly.... the cooling fan comes on at power up and runs continuously until shut down.  My other IC-7000 does not exhibit this characteristic.

The previous owner tells me that this did not happen while he had the radio.  I am wondering if this is a parameter in the set menu or possibly the secret, hidden “service” screen.

Or, is something wrong with the fan sensing circuit?

I would be happy to hear from anyone who has more experience with the IC-7000.
