[ICOM] IC-7700

Hi Bob,
I think I would be plugging in a 6.5 mm headphone plug without anything attached and see if there is any DC present on between ground and the two active pins. If there's DC it could mean a shorted coupling cap from the amplifier. Mind you without looking at the circuit it could be a bridged type amp bust suspect not as the headphone socket is grounded.
Cheers,
Simon

Subject: [ICOM] IC-7700
My IC-7700 operates perfectly except for one irritating problem; At turn-on
there is a loud 'pop' in the attached speaker (even with headphones plugged
in). It's there even with volume control full CCW.
Is this a known issue? Solutions?
Thanks!
73, Bob
