I am helping with the estate sale for a SK, and one radio in the estate is
an Icom 7100 which doesn't power up. Trying a different power cord has no
effect, and the head works on a different radio body. One of our local
hams who was friends with the SK things that it might have been hooked up
backwards to the power supply since the SK was colorblind and might have
become confused about the power cable wires.
If that is the case, what is probably blown out in the radio? Is there an
internal fuse or diode that protects the radio from reverse polarity.
