VIBROPLEX RX7300
INRAD Receive-Only Antenna Jack Add-On For The Icom IC-7300

HRO Discount Price: $39.95*
The RX7300 can also be used for the insertion of accessory items into the
receiver chain on the IC-7300 like Receive-Only Bandpass Filters, Low Noise
Preamps, etc.

When installed, the IC-7300 will transmit using the radios SO-239 antenna
connector, and receive through one of the 2 RCA phono jacks on the RX7300.

To use transceiver in normal transceive operation, leave the RG-174 coax
loop installed.

I'll be darned if I can figure out why Icom does not provide the ability for
a separate receive antenna on newer gear as they did on the IC-735!
Verticals work quite well for 160, 80, and 40 meter DX work, but they pick
up lots of noise on receive. Low and long wires work fairly well for
reducing receive noise on those bands and amplified magnetic loops are
superb for low noise reception there.

DX Engineering does make an external device to hook a separate receive
antenna to the regular coax connector but removes that antenna when your rig
is put into transmit mode.

The little RCA jumper to enable an easy option for use of a separate receive
antenna should be a really simple and cheap addition.

I wonder if anybody has or could come up with a simple mod to add this
capability in current transceivers.

I have a 751A and I know it has that RCA loop installed.
