[ICOM] ICOM 706MK2G DISPLAY PROBLEM

Hi, my 706 LCD display was perfect until put in storage for the hurricane last October in Florida.  Now the center of the LCD has a oval fuzzylook. I assume (guess) the low barometric pressure allowed dust to be sucked in and blur the display. I removed the two tiny screws and the first back plastic cover. I removed the knobs and control nuts and don't see what else holds it together. Has anyone successfully disassembled one of these display units?  Is it possible that the LCD display was damaged by the low pressure. ICOM parts says they have no LCD's in stock.
Any help would be appreciated. Ken
