[ICOM] No power out on my 7600

I've had two 756 PROIIs loose power output for no apparent reason.
On the 1st PROII it was new after the first hour of taking it out of the
box and making two CW QSOs with 5w and one at HP on a perfectly clear
winter night. Icom doesn't seem to think this is a problem but some FETs
in the tuner were blown but not the finals. The RX still worked fine but
there was no measurable output. Icom at first refused to repair under
warranty and claimed I had operated it out of warranty and wanted some
$180 for the repair! The RX is not disconnected from the RX ant terminal
when you TX unless you buy the after market RIG Saver (not an Icom
product). These are not the only brand rigs with this problem of the RX
not being disconnected from the RX ant terminal when you TX! The next
time this happened it was out of the warranty period and I sent it to a
non Icom repair shop that added the Rig Saver. Later a lightening strike
came in the power line on the neutral side and wiped out the rig. It was
not connected to an antenna and was off but the Icom PS was plugged into
the AC line and also off. There was not damage to the PS and it is still
in use with a 756 PROIII.
Anytime I leave the shack during lightening season I now try and
disconnect all antennas and AC plugs in the shack. I've heard of Icom
rigs having these loss of power out problem even from blowing snow or
dust and they are not the only rigs with these problems.
