I think (almost positive) the Acc input is “downstream” of the mic amp (and mic gain control) and VOX circuit. Try a test, going in the front mic connector. Or just put the microphone close to the computer speaker.

A friend built a simple circuit with a diode and single transistor, that rectified the audio (It’s AC voltage) and keyed the transistor to switch the PTT line.

I’m sure there are many articles in the magazines and Web, with such a circuit. Same as used in the SignaLink USB sound card thing.

Look up stuff interfacing FLdigi or any of the other digital modes software.

Service manuals, for your radio, with schematics can be found, online.

I could look in my 756P3 book or 7000, but you need one for the 746, to be sure.
